20:00 Alexei Aigi
Alexei AigiAlexey Aigi (born 1971) is a composer, conductor, performer and producer. He was born in Moscow and graduated from the Violin Department of the Moscow Conservatory. Alexey Aigi is often referred to as the "Russian Michael Nyman", but as opposed to the foreign maestro, the son of the genius Gennady Aigi has never put too much minimalism into his compositions. His easily flying passages soundtracked Dykhovichny's "Music for December" and Todorovsky's "The Country of the Deaf". In 1994 Alexey formed "4'33" - one of the most interesting musical projects of recent years. "4'33" is a regular guest of both contemporary academic music festivals and rock-, jazz festivals standing aside from the major trends and making its own instead. Alexey Aigi is also known as a brilliant composer. He authored music for several films including Todorovsky's "The Country of the Deaf". This soundtrack won Alexey the national award "Golden Aries" and a nomination for "Nika" as the Best Composer. He also authored music for silent films that were demonstrated in the "Silent Film - Speaking Music" series. "4'33", named after the famous silent John Cage's play, is a flexible open outfit. Its line-up depends on the certain project's concept. When gathered all together "4'33" is almost a full-fledged symphony orchestra: violin, trumpet, trombone, electro guitar, drums and violoncello performing something absolutely non-classical: instrumental music but of some different kind, jazz-rock, electric symphonies and lots of other fascinating things. The band aims to play on contrasts of the genres and styles with s special attention being paid to original retro compositions of the classics - from the old masters to modern rock bands. The band's repertoire comprises compositions by Philip Glass, Morton Feldman, La Monte Young, Terry Raily, Christian Wolff, Brian Eno,Arvo Part and others as well as the newest compositions by Russian authors - Vladimir Martynov, Georgy Peletsis. For more then 15 years they have released about a score of albums, collaborated with writers and DJs, musicians and poets. And, of course, "4'33" toured Russia and then Europe where this "band of desperate virtuoso" are warm-heartedly welcomed and impatiently waited for. Alexey Aigi's new album will be released in the latter half of the year.

20:00 DePhazz (Germany)
DePhazzThe prolific DePhazz was a jazzy, lounge-oriented downtempo project led by German-Austrian producer Peter "Pit" Baumgartner, who surrounded himself with a shifting cast of collaborators that featured vocalists Barbara Lahr, Karl Frierson, and Pat Appleton, as well as drummer Oli Rubow. Albums like Detunized Gravity (1997), Godsdog (1999), Death by Chocolate (2001), Daily Lama (2002), Days of Twang (2007), and Big (2009) explored various terrains of 21st century lounge music, much of it balancing samples with live instrumentation, with innumerable cross-sections of jazz, soul, easy listening, and Latin music. Baumgartner was also no stranger to outside work; he remixed Ella Fitzgerald's "Wait 'til You See Him" for the first Verve Remixed compilation, as well as Kool & the Gang and a-ha. "An acoustic guitar is actually something that does not work for DePhazz. And that's what makes this record really exciting, "says Pit Baumgartner, mastermind and head screwdriver DePhazz of his latest prank. With this awareness, the "transistor Kid" leads his band on "Naive" in a brave new world of acoustic sounds - where previously Dub, Pop, Jazz, Soul, Lounge, Trip Hop, Mambo and electro grooves ruled it sounds now gorgeous contemporary. According to folk. Together with guitarist Adax D'rsam, DePhazz a musician of the first hour, Baumgartner has interpreted some classic old-school DePhazz totally new to Naive over the years. "Then take the vocals from 1997 to brand new arrangements. And soon you recognize what actually is in pieces like "The Mambo Craze" or "Jim The Jinn". Just next to a good sound production still a great song. "In fact, it looks as if the songs would have to be peeled, as if they had dropped time intellectual ballast to crawl right out of the 90 Lounge in the iPod." For the first time DePhazz will present Naive live in Moscow. More info
