"Moscow Ballet" contemporary company dancers make experiments on each other and test to the limit. The laboratory name continues theme of scientific research project. Every two years the leading contemporary dance centre "The Place" (London) organizes this project. Artem Ignatiev is a supervisor of laboratory: tutor of contemporary company, choreographer of Equus, 4 Seasons, Tarelkin's Death, Bolero, Polovtsian Dances. Everyone can express him or herself, they can work both as a choreographer and a dancer. And sometimes they have to play both roles at the same time. As a result laboratory becomes a space for searching their own professional methods, experience and practice of cooperation with each other. Laboratory is opened for visitors older than 12 years, enthusiastic, ready for experiments and opened for all that is connected with contemporary art. They set 10 experiments joint by general theme which is a secret for now. Creation idea of dance laboratory belongs to director of "Moscow Ballet Theater" Elena Tupyseva. It was born at the very beginning of work with the theatre, and it became a priority of its long-term development. The aims of the project are to develop professional skills of dancers and create runaway of choreodrome, from where new names in the field of contemporary choreography will appear. It's for a reason this theatre season was chosen as a starting point of laboratory. From now it will take place every year. As Elena Tupyseva says: "For today the aim of the theatre is to pay spectator's attention to the content." Dance content of invited choreographer who works firstly with personality involving it in improvisation. The content besomes unique for every dancer, and he or her is ready to work more with it, gaining experience and creating his or her own style in choreography.
