19:00 Slade & T. Rex (UK)
SladeTwo legends of the world rock music - Slade (UK) and T. Rex (UK) - will perform at the fantastic show in Crocus City Hall in Moscow. Slade may have never truly caught on with American audiences (often narrow-mindedly deemed "too British-sounding"), but the group became a sensation in their homeland with their anthemic brand of glam rock in the early '70s, as they scored a staggering 11 Top Five hits in a four-year span from 1971 to 1974 (five of which topped the charts). Comprised of singer/guitarist Noddy Holder, guitarist Dave Hill, bassist Jimmy Lea, and drummer Don Powell, the group originally formed in the spring of 1966 under the name the In-Be-Tweens, playing out regularly with a mixture of soul and rock tracks. But besides a lone obscure single, "You Better Run", the band never issued any other recordings. By the end of '60s, the group had changed their name to Ambrose Slade and signed on with the Fontana label. Soon after, the quartet hooked up with Animals bass player-turned-manager Chas Chandler (who had discovered Jimi Hendrix a few years prior), who promptly suggested the group shorten the name to just Slade and assume a "skinhead" look as a gimmick. After several albums featuring few original compositions from the quartet came and went, the group began to write their own tunes, grew their hair long, and assumed the look of the then-burgeoning glam movement, joining the same cause championed by such fellow Brits as David Bowie and T. Rex. This new direction paid off in 1971 with the number 16 U.K. single "Get Down and Get With It," which soon touched off a string of classic singles and led to Slade becoming one of the most beloved party bands back home. Slade also utilized another gimmick, humorously misspelled song titles, as evidenced by such singles as "Coz I Luv You," "Look Wot You Dun," "Take Me Bak 'Ome," "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" etc. Several attempts at cracking the U.S. market came up empty (with track listings between their U.K. and U.S. full-lengths differing), although such albums as Slade Alive! and Slayed? are considered to be some of the finest albums of the glam era. In 2014 Slade will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their immortal hit "Far Far Away". Slade's formers Dave Hill and Don Powell with glam rock veterans Mal McNulty (ex-Sweet) and John Berry (ex-Mud) are ready to sing this song and other hits at their Moscow concert. But Slade will be not alone in this evening. You will also hear the British rock band T. Rex, formed in 1967 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan. The band formed as Tyrannosaurus Rex, releasing four underground folk albums under the name. Tony Visconti (their producer for several albums) claimed in a documentary on the band that he had taken to using the abbreviated term "T. Rex" as a shorthand, something that initially irritated Bolan, who gradually came around to the idea and officially shortened the band's name to "T. Rex" at roughly the same time they started having big hits (shortly after going electric). In the early to mid 1970s, the band reached huge success with fourteen top-20 UK glam rock hits: "Jeepster", "Get It On", "Ride a White Swan", "Solid Gold Easy Action", "Children of the Revolution", "Hot Love", "Telegram Sam", "20th Century Boy", "Debora", "Teenage Dream", "The Groover", "New York City", "I Love To Boogie" and "Metal Guru". During this period the band also released six UK top-30 albums, including Electric Warrior, which hit the top of the album charts. In 1977, Bolan was killed in a car accident, and the band broke up. And you have a great chance to hear this legendary outfit in Moscow this autumn and sing their hits together. More info

21:00 Tying Tiffany (Italy)
Tying TiffanyTying Tiffany (TT) has always searched for a sincere and original approach to the various forms of art to which she has always been attracted. And for this reason she chose to attend the Art Institute which allowed her to experiment with various artistic paths from design to photography to performance art, but keeping in mind that only music permits her to reach the full expressive force through an avant-garde style, irreverent and against the current. With her first single "You Know Me", released by Get Physical ( Dj T. & M.A.N.D.Y.) from Berlin, she is included in the compilation "Full Body Workout vol. 2." The debut album Undercover (Jato Music) dated 2005 is an astounding condensed citationist and an explicit feminist stance. Techno Punk and hardcore rhythms and electro living together with the Industrial past of TT, with her passion for post punk and dadaism. The record attracts great interest from critics and public. Brain for Breakfast follows released by the American label I Scream Records, an album of passage, rich with collaborations among those with Nic Endo and Pete Namlook. A tour sets off that winds through more than 200 dates throughout Europe in the best international clubs both for rock and electronica. Her performances are unforgettable experiences that find their strength in the alternation of moments of rare intensity as well as of disarming fragility. 2010 is the year of Peoples Temple (Trisol Records), album from the most dark shades, (as Fritz Lang's Metropolis could also be defined as dark) in which TT moves with ease and originality. The title is an an explicit reference to the pseudo-religious cult led by Jim Jones who, on 18 November 1978, became the protagonist of the largest massacre of civilians from unnatural causes before September 11th. The event itself is a pretext that TT uses to broaden her point of view about today's society, to the total lack of the lack of the ability to discriminate and prevailing ignorance. Dark Days, White Nights (Trisol Records 2012). "Drownin", first single taken from the album, had a prestigious premiere in October 2011, with its inclusion on the soundtrack of the latest edition of the highly popular game for PC and Console from Electronic Arts FIFA 12; Tying Tiffany was the only Italian artist to be chosen among 39 bands from 15 different nations among those picked The Ting Tings, CSS, Kasabian, TV On The Radio, The Strokes, Foster the People and Thievery Corporation in what was defined an "Insane International Line-Up" by MTV Iggy. In Dark Days, White Nights TT offers a textbook lesson in post-punk attitude on a collision course with a wall of sound that refers to 1st wave electronica, and strengthens, further, her reputation as an exceptional composer faithful to the roots of the genre. The first song "New Colony" was included on the CSI: Ney York soundtrack airing February 3rd, episode "Brooklyn 'Til i die" and the track "Storycide" was chosen by CBS for "Blood Moon" episode #3 of the eleventh season of CSI: Las Vegas. In her new album Drop (Trisol / ZerOKilled Music 2014) she crafts her own brand of dark, dreamy pop, full of buzzing synths, piercing vocals, and infectious electro-beats. While maintaining that accessible pop factor, Drop finds inspiration in an eclectic mix of 90s electronica, R&S and Rising High Records, acid house and chill-wave. The release will coincide with her SXSW 2014 showcases. TT composed the original music with her new musical project T.T.L. (Through theLens) with the composer Lorenzo Montanà for the film trailers of "Coriolanus" directed by Ralph Fiennes and "The Hunger Games" directed by Gary Ross based on the bestselling science fiction novel by Suzanne Collins which is scheduled for release on 23 March 2012.
